
Soul combine efforts with ProBuild Company for community initiatives

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Soul will partner with a local non-profit organization each home game to collect donations and raise awareness for the various causes supported in Philadelphia with the support of Strober Building Supply, a ProBuild Company.
During the season opener against the Colorado Crush on Thursday, March 22, the Soul are holding the fourth annual Teddy Bear Drive to support the Philadelphia Children's Alliance. The Philadelphia Children's Alliance acts to create a coordinated multi-agency, interdisciplinary response to cases of child sexual abuse to promote healing and justice for all victims.
Against the Georgia Force on Monday, April 9, Philadelphia Reads will orchestrate a book drive for new or used books. The central focus of Philadelphia Reads is to have every child reading at or above grade level by the end of third grade. Philadelphia Reads works hard to fulfill this mission through a variety of programs, special initiatives, activities and resources.
When the Soul face the Kansas City Brigade on Saturday, May 5, fans are encouraged to come to the game with new socks to be donated to Covenant House. Covenant House is the largest privately funded childcare agency in the United States providing shelter and service to homeless and runaway youth.
A wireless phone recycling drive is collecting old or used cell phones on Monday, May 14, when Philadelphia plays host division rivals, the New York Dragons. Wireless companies then refurbish and resell the phones, eliminating waste in the environment through recycling.
While playing the New Orleans VooDoo on Monday May 21, a collection for new gym class supplies for Bel Aire Elementary School in Gulf Port, Mississippi will be held. All of the supplies gathered at this game will benefit children attending a school that was impacted by the devastation of hurricane Katrina. Materials for gym class include footballs, baseballs and bats, dodge balls, jump ropes and Frisbee, etc.
On Friday, June 1, when the Dallas Desperados come to town, fans are to support the Northern Home for Children's School Supply Drive. Since 1853, Northern Home has continually provided a safe haven for children and a safety net for children and families facing extraordinary challenges.
In the following week on Saturday, June 16, as the Columbus Destroyers enter the City of Brotherly Love, People's Emergency Center is conducting a drive for new baby clothing. People's Emergency Center is a community of concerned citizens with a shared belief in the equality, dignity and worth of every person and break the cycle of homelessness by helping families achieve permanent stability and self-sufficiency.
In the final home game of the regular season against the Orlando Predators on Thursday, June 21, the Soul will conduct a School Backpack Drive benefiting Rubye's Kids. They provide charitable services, which further the social, emotional, and educational welfare of underprivileged children all year long.
