
A 26th Win for the Montreal Junior

Montreal, December 17, 2010 ---- Playing tonight their last game before the Holiday break, the Montreal Junior won its 26th game of the season beating the Lewiston MAINEiacs 7 to 5.
Etienne Brodeur of the Lewiston MAINEiacs quickly opened the mark at 26 seconds after the start of the game, scoring his 28th of the season. The Montreal Junior had to wait until the 8th minute 21st seconds of play before scoring their first goal of the evening, thanks to Trevor Parkes registering its 17th of the season during a power play. Nicolas Chouinard (12th) and David Rose (11th) registered 2 goals, allowing the Junior to go back to their dressing room after the first period leading 3-1.
The Lewiston MAINEiacs added 3 goals in the second period taking the lead 4-3 after 40 minutes of play.
Quickly in the third period, Nicolas Chouinard scored his 13th and 14th goals of the season. Jean-Christophe Laflamme and Dylan Anderson completed the score for Pascal Vincent's troup. Cameron Critchlow scored the 5th goal for the MAINEiacs.
Nicholas Champion and et Andrey Makarov of the Lewiston MAINEiacs received 31 shots on goal while Jean-Franois Brub registered his 19th win of the season receiving 31 shots as well.
With tonight's win, head-coach Pascal Vincent is now one game away from reaching the 400th victory mark. When he does, he will only be the 6th coach in the history of the QMJHL to reach such plateau.
Total attendance at Verdun Auditorium tonight was 3011 fans.
The Montreal Junior will play its next game on Monday December 27 at 7:05 as they will host the Victoriaville Tigers.
