Dayton Warbirds Await Final Approval with the National Indoor Football League (NIFL)

(Dayton, OH) -- The Dayton Warbirds Professional Indoor Football team is waiting for final approval with the National Indoor Football League (NIFL) for the 2005 season. Final approval should be announced this weekend.

Founder Jeff Jodway has named former Vice President Mark Timmons the new Warbirds President. Matt King will remain as Head Coach and accept General Manager responsibilities as well. There would be very few visible changes made to the Warbirds. The coaching staff, player roster, and the home games to be played at the Nutter Center will also remain the same. Ticket holders for the March 17th game are encouraged to hold their tickets until the postponed game is rescheduled. The March 17th tickets will be honored at the rescheduled game.

"The NIFL has one thing on its agenda - playing football. That's what we are here to do," Timmons said. "This change would be better for our players, coaches, and Dayton as a whole."

Pending final approval, the Dayton Warbirds home opener will be played at 7:35 p.m. on Saturday, April 2nd at the Nutter Center against an NIFL Atlantic Conference Team.

The Warbirds NIFL competitors would include the Cincinnati Marshals, River City Rage, New Jersey Xtreme, Montgomery Maulers, Fayetteville Guard, Rome Renegades, Miami Morays, Lakeland Thunderbolts, Kissimmee Kreatures, and the Daytona Beach Hawgs.

NIFL teams span the nation from coast to coast to provide America's fastest growing sport, Indoor Football, to all fans in all cities. "It's football so close, you're in it!"
