Jersey Shore BlueClaws News Release
LAKEWOOD, NJ - Carl Craft and Jimmy Steal of 95.9 WRAT have been added to the lineup for the June 17th Celebrity Hitting Challenge, which takes place at FirstEnergy Park beginning at 7:05 pm.
Craft and Steal will be on opposing Celebrity Hitting Challenge teams. The event will include a series of special beach-themed targets around the field and players earn points for their team by hitting the targets. The teams will be made up of both celebrities and South Atlantic League All-Stars.
Craft, co-host of the stations "Morning Rat Race," is an avid road and mountain cyclist on the Shore, enjoys beach volleyball but will definitely need to hit the batting cages for practice so he doesn't completely embarrass himself at the event.
"This should be fun", Craft says, "even if I haven't swung a bat since college keg-ball."
Steal is a lifelong New Jersey resident that hosts weekdays from 3-7 pm. He is psyched for the celebrity hitting challenge and even more excited to be called a celebrity.
Along the infield, there will be a special VIP area, which includes food and drink. The VIPs will be protected by a special net that stretches around the infield and creates a one-of-a-kind atmosphere to watch the event. VIP tickets are $75 each and currently available by calling 732-901-7000 option 2.
Among the other participating celebrities are former Mets pitcher Doc Gooden and former Phillies pitcher Mitch Williams. Additional celebrities are listed at BlueClaws.com and more will be released in the coming weeks.
The Celebrity Hitting Challenge is part of the two-day ClawStar Spectacular, which includes the 2013 South Atlantic League All-Star Game on June 18th. The festivities are presented by Kimball and Community Medical Centers, OceanFirst Bank, and Shore Point Distributing Company.
Tickets for both the Hitting Challenge and the All-Star Game are currently on sale by calling 732-901-7000 option 2 or online at BlueClaws.com/AllStar.
