Raptors 905 (12-10), the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors swept the season series again the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (13-12) 129-114 Saturday afternoon. Sterling Brown led the way for the 905 with 21 points, six rebounds, and eight assists, while the Mad Ants saw a game-high 34 points from Trevelin Queen who added seven rebounds, seven assists, and three steals in the contest.
The two teams opened the ball game exchanging baskets but a buzzer-beating layup gave Fort Wayne the two-point advantage. The Mad Ants built off their momentum in the second extending their lead to six, but eight straight points from the 905 allowed the home side to regain control of the match. The 905 continued to push the pace in the second quarter as they outscored the visitors 44-26 in the frame.
Down 16 to open the half, Fort Wayne fought back going on a 9-0 run to cut the lead to seven. The 905 quickly answered, and eventually extended their lead to as many as 23 points in the quarter. The Mad Ants mounted their comeback bid in the final frame, bringing the game within eight, but were unable to overcome the deficit.
Gabe Brown provided complementary scoring off the bench for the 905 adding 21 points, four rebounds, three assists, and a steal. Justin Anderson contributed 23 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and a steal for the Mad Ants
The 905 continue their homestand Monday as they host G League Ignite, tip-off scheduled for 7:30 pm. The Mad Ants return to Fort Wayne to host the Motor City Cruise, Thursday at 11:00 am.
