OTTAWA - The Ottawa 67's of the Ontario Hockey League will hold a special fundraiser and ceremony on Sunday, January 18 at TD Place in support of Neil Doef, a hockey player with the Smiths Falls Bears, who was severely injured during a recent game.

Members of the Bears will be on hand at Sunday's game against the Peterborough Petes to participate as part of the #Doefstrong fundraising effort in support of Doef and his family

"We've seen in the past how the hockey community rallies and comes together to support players who have suffered serious injury. We feel it's important that we do what we can to help Neil during his recovery," said Jeff Hunt, President of Sports with the Ottawa Sports & Entertainment Group, the parent company that operates the 67's, the Ottawa REDBLACKS of the Canadian Football League and Ottawa Fury FC of the North American Soccer League.

Fans attending Sunday's game may make donations on the arena concourse and meet players with the Bears.

In addition, the proceeds of the 50/50 draw during Sunday's game, which begins at 2 p.m., will be donated to the #Doefstrong campaign. The 67's will also wear alternate jerseys which will be sold following the game in an on-line auction, with all proceeds to #Doefstrong.

The 67's will wear a special helmet decal during the game in support of Doef.

More information on #Doefstrong can be found on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/doefstrong.

Tickets are available at the 67's website, or by calling 613-232-6767.
