San Bernardino, CA -- The Struggles continued for Inland Empire (9-11) fell to Lake Elsinore for the third time in as many nights by the final of 5-0. Starter Lay Batista surrendered four of the five Storm runs in his six innings of work.
Redlands product Matt Andriese pitched seven scoreless innings for the Storm striking out five Sixers allowing just three hits. A pair of relievers combined for the finals two innings completing the shutout.
Lead-off man Andrew Heid collected two of Inland Empire's three hits.
Inland Empire will attempt to salvage a win in the final game of the series with Lake Elsinore on "Thirsty Thursday" at San Manuel Stadium Donn Roach (3-0, 1.33 ERA) on the mound. Sam Farber will call the game on AM1050 KCAA and 66ers.com starting with the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians pregame show at 6:55.
