Inland Empire 66ers News Release
San Bernardino, CA - On Saturday, March 23rd, 2013 the Inland Empire 66ers will be hosting the 17th Annual County Clash Triple Header at San Manuel Stadium. This annual event, first held on March 27th, 1997, allows local high school baseball teams a unique way to raise funds, as well as the opportunity to play a game in a professional baseball team's stadium.
Six high school baseball teams will be participating in the County Clash Triple Header. The San Gorgonio Spartans will square off against the Carter Lions at 1:00PM, followed by the Redlands Terriers playing the AB Miller Terriers at 4:00PM. In the night cap, the Yucaipa Thunderbirds will take on the Redlands East Valley Wildcats at 7:00PM. Gates for the 17th annual County Clash will open at 12:00PM.
Participating schools are given 1,000 tickets to sell to their families, friends, and fans, at $4 each. The Inland Empire 66ers offer a 50/50 split on all the proceeds from the ticket sales, allowing the teams to earn up to $2,000 for their baseball programs. Tickets can be purchased directly from participating schools prior to the event, but will also be available at the box office on the game date.
"Being an active part of the community is an important aspect of our team, and we welcome the chance to support local organizations, especially youth sports programs," said 66ers General Manager Joe Hudson, adding, "This event also gives us the opportunity to finalize our preparations, making sure that San Manuel Stadium and the staff are primed and ready for the upcoming season."
The 2013 season will kick off on Thursday April 4, 2013 at San Manuel Stadium when the 66ers take on the Modesto Nuts. Inland Empire fans can now purchase season ticket and group packages for the 2013 season. Tickets can be purchased by calling 909-888-9922.
