66ers Set to Open 2008-09 Campaign at Rio Grande Valley
As Training Camp starts to wind down, the Tulsa 66ers are hard at work! The team will embark on a new journey as they tip-off the 2008-09 season. With a new front office staff, a new ownership group in the Oklahoma City Thunder, new coaching staff, and a new philosophy in the kinds of players that fans will get to know this season, don't miss any opportunity to cheer on "Green Country's" professional basketball club. Oklahoma City Thunder Assigns Steven Hill to 66ers
Oklahoma City Thunder General Manager Sam Presti announced today that the team has assigned center Steven Hill to the Tulsa 66ers of the NBA Development League.
Hill (7-0, 245) saw action in one regular season game with the Thunder. The Branson, Missouri native scored two points and grabbed three rebounds in two minutes of action versus the Orlando Magic. Hill is the first player to be assigned to the 66ers by the Oklahoma City Thunder since the Professional Basketball Club, LLC assumed control of the NBA Development League franchise on July 31, 2008.
A four-year contributor at Arkansas, Hill averaged 4.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.4 blocks and 19.5 minutes while shooting .518 from the field. Hill was named SEC Defensive Player of the Year as a junior when he averaged 2.8 blocks for the Razorbacks.
