
4 More Players Re-Up with Harrisburg Heat

Harrisburg Heat News Release
HARRISBURG, Pa., Oct. 21 - Defenders Connor Malone, Val Teixeira and Craig Tyrrell, as well as midfielder Kevin Wolfe, have agreed to contract terms for the 2014-15 season with the Harrisburg Heat, the Major Arena Soccer League team announced today.
Terms of the deals were not released.
Their returns from the 2013-14 team bring to 13 the number of players who so far have agreed to terms for this season - joining targets Chris Hall and Kenneth Fultz; forwards Tom Mellor and Dean Miller;
midfielder Tyler Witmer; defenders Brad Kerstetter and Zach Sell; and goalkeepers Justin Johnson and Tim Mehl.
Malone, 26, a second-year pro out of Central Dauphin High by way of the University of Pittsburgh, played in 10 games as a rookie last season, totaling three points on a goal and two assists.
Teixeira, 37, played in all 16 of the Heat's games last season, posting seven goals and five assists. His 14 blocked shots were second on the team only to Kerstetter's 18.
Tyrrell, 42, who like Terrell has played with the Heat since the first season of their rebirth in 2012, had 11 blocked shots in 13 games last season.
Wolfe, 24, who played collegiately at Lock Haven, dressed for eight games during his rookie season last winter, and had three points on two goals and an assist.
The Heat are expected to have a roster of 20 players heading into their Nov. 1 season opener at Detroit with 14 players eligible to dress for each game.
COMING ATTRACTIONS
WHAT A BLAST: The Heat host the Baltimore Blast in a preseason game at 7 p.m. Thursday at Sports City Harrisburg, 4141 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg. Season ticket holders will be admitted free, while all other tickets will be $7 and sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. Seating is limited.
OPENING NIGHT: The Heat open the third season of their modern era on Saturday, Nov. 1 at Detroit before returning home to face Detroit on Saturday, Nov. 15, at the State Farm Show Complex's Large Arena, where the original Heat played from 1991-2003. The Heat play 10 regular-season home games this season at the 7,300-seat Large Arena after spending the last two seasons in the complex's Equine Arena.
