3 Run Ninth Inning Bend Rally Trims Gems 6-4 in Series Finale

Klamath Falls, OR: July 4, 2013 Three 9th inning runs by the Bend Elks were the difference in the game as the Gems lost their third game in a row to the Elks at Kiger Stadium on Thursday night. Cody Hough's (University of California Riverside) second home run in as many games tied the game in the 4th inning, and an RBI single by Tyson Dahl (Oregon Tech) gave the Gems their first lead of the game in the 5th inning, before the Elks late inning rally.

Ian Buckles (George Fox University) came on in the 5th inning in relief and took the loss for the Gems, falling to 1-2. Adam Grantham (Arkansas State University) earned his first win of the year for Bend, improving to 1-2. Bend's record improves to 18-9, while the Gems fall to 12-13 overall.

Gems next home game is Monday, July 8th vs. the Medford Rogues. Monday's promotion: Kids get in free (Sponsored by Kla-Mo-Ya Casino). Each Monday night game during the 2013 Gems home season will be Kids Night.
