
3 Raging Tide Players Drafted by MLB teams

Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide News Release
OLD ORCHARD BEACH, ME- The Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League had three former players drafted by Major League teams over the weekend.
Former Raging Tide Short Stop and University of Maine standout Mike Fransoso (Portsmouth, NH) was the first of Tide alumni selected as he was drafted in the 27th round by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Fransoso was named an All-American his senior season along with the America East Player of the Year award. Fransoso played for the Raging Tide during their inaugural season in Old Orchard Beach in 2011.
Tyler Toyfair (Agawam, MA/UMass-Lowell) was the next in line to get the call from the big leagues as he was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 35th round. Toyfair appeared in 12 games for the Raging Tide in 2012 and struck out 15 batters in 13 innings pitched.
Colin O'Keefe (Waterford, CT/Virginia Tech) was also drafted; Colin pitched for the Tide during the 2012 season and was selected in the 33rd round by the Los Angeles Angels.
The three selections are the first for the Raging Tide since becoming an organization in 2011. The Raging Tide has also produced 2 drafted players from their 2012 roster which was their first season as members of the Futures League.
