
23-Player Rosters Announced for Leagues Cup Opening Matches on July 23 in Chicago and Los Angeles

NEW YORK AND MEXICO CITY - Approaching the inaugural edition of Leagues Cup, which kicks off with MLS-versus-LIGA MX matchups in Chicago and Los Angeles on Tuesday, July 23, the announced 23-man rosters feature an array of global superstars and Gold Cup champions for the new annual competition between the two top soccer leagues in North America.

The opening tournament match will feature the Chicago Fire with Argentine international Nicolás Gaitán alongside World Cup champion Bastian Schweinsteiger, MLS Golden Boot winner Nemanja Nikolic and 20-year-old U.S. National Team midfielder Djordje Mihailovic against Cruz Azul's roster which features Gold Cup champions Orbelin Pineda and Roberto Alvarado, Yoshimar Yotun, and goalscorer Milton Caraglio at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Ill. (8:30 p.m. ET).

Immediately following, LA Galaxy titan Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who scored a spectacular hat trick last Friday, will be joined by Gold Cup champions Jonathan dos Santos and Uriel Antuna hosting Club Tijuana's goalscorers Miller Bolaños and Ariel Nahuelpan in addition to former Vancouver Whitecaps FC striker Camilo Sanvezzo, and coached by former FC Dallas head coach Oscar Pareja at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California on July 23 (11 p.m. ET).

Leagues Cup games will be broadcast on TUDN and ESPN in the United States and on TSN and TVA Sports in Canada. Televisa will air the event in Mexico on TUDN, Canal 5 and Nu9ve.
