2023 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League Draw to Take Place Monday, November 7

ORLANDO, Fla. - Orlando City SC is set to find out its first opponent for the 2023 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League this Monday, Nov. 7, with the SCCL Draw set for 7 p.m. ET. Concacaf Director of Competitions Carlos Fernandez will conduct the draw alongside former players from the region.

The draw, which will take place in Miami, is available for viewing and will air live on TUDN.

Draw Information:

The 2023 SCCL matchups will commence with the Round of 16 in March, followed by the quarterfinals and first leg semifinals in April, and the return leg semifinals and first leg final in May. The all-decisive return leg final, where the region's new champion will be crowned, will take place on Sunday, June 4, 2023.

Based on the 2023 SCCL Ranking, clubs will be distributed in Pots 1 and 2 as follows:

Pot 1: Vancouver Whitecaps FC, Atlas FC, CF Pachuca, Club Leon, Los Angeles FC, Orlando City SC, Philadelphia Union, Austin FC

Pot 2: LD Alajuelense, Alianza FC, Violette AC, CD Olimpia, Motagua FC, RCD España, Tigres UANL, Tauro FC

The official draw will be executed using a double-blind system and four pots. Pots 1 and 2 will contain the spheres with the names of the 16 participating clubs, and Pots A and B will contain the spheres with the bracket positions for the Round of 16.

Qualification Information:

The Lions qualified for their first Concacaf Champions League after becoming the 2022 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Champions and join four other MLS teams in this edition of the tournament. LAFC and Philadelphia Union qualified as the Supporters' Shield winners and Eastern Conference winners, respectively, while Vancouver Whitecaps FC earned their spot through the 2022 Canadian Championship.

While the fifth SCCL spot typically goes to the MLS Cup winner, both LAFC and Philadelphia Union have already earned spots, leaving Austin FC to enter the competition as the highest-ranked US-based MLS club not already qualified. CF Montréal, third in the overall league table and above fourth-placed Austin, were unable to get that spot as Canada's lone spot is filled by Vancouver, per CCL rules.

Haitian club Violette AC enters as the 2022 Concacaf Caribbean Club Championship champion. Four teams from Liga MX are set to compete, including Atlas FC as champions of the Apertura 2021 and Clausura 2022 seasons, Tigres UANL as the best-ranked team on the Liga MX aggregate table, Club León as the Apertura 2021 runners-up and CF Pachuca as the Clausura 2022 runners-up.

The final six teams all qualified through the 2022 Concacaf League, with Honduran sides Club Deportivo Olimpia, Real España and CF Motagua, Costa Rica's Alajuelense, El Salvador's Alianza FC and Tauro FC from Panama rounding out the 16 teams for 2023 SCCL.
