 Saskatchewan Roughriders News Release
After months of planning, the 2022 Grey Cup Festival officially kicks off in Saskatoon with Tuesday's high-energy Youth Rally and Wednesday's free Pancake Breakfast (both presented by Cameco) at Prairieland Park (Hall B). These kick-off events are the ideal way to bring the community together and get in the spirit of the Grey Cup Festival.
Following Wednesday's Pancake Breakfast, the Grey Cup trophy will make its way down Highway 11 to Regina just in time for the free, all-ages SiriusXM Kickoff Party, which runs from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Viterra International Trade Centre. Eight-time Juno Award-winning artist Colin James will headline the party in his hometown province.
On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the Festival kicks into high gear with a variety of events for families, football fanatics and local Saskatchewanians. Many events are free, including the NexGen Energy Street Festival, Harvard Media Community Stage, SaskPower Family Fair, Gainer's Heartland (presented by Tourism Saskatchewan), Digital Zone (presented by SaskTel), the Calgary Grey Cup Committee Pancake Breakfast and the Esports Showcase.
"Grey Cup Festival is all about the community and the CFL fans who are the lifeblood of the league," said Saskatchewan Roughriders President and CEO and Grey Cup Festival Co-Chair Craig Reynolds. "From start to finish, this year's Grey Cup Festival is action packed with something for everyone. We look forward to welcoming the community and celebrating the league and the teams we all love."
Back by popular demand this year are the Team Party Rooms and various special events, such as the CFL Awards hosted by Kate Beirness, the CFL Alumni Association Legends Luncheon (presented by Phoenix Group), Touchdown Manitoba, Cheer Extravaganza and the Canadiana Gala (presented by ISC)
The 109th Grey Cup from Mosaic Stadium in Saskatchewan will air live on Sunday, November 20, with kickoff slated for 5 p.m. local/6 p.m. ET. The sold-out championship contest will be broadcast across the nation on TSN and RDS - Canada's home of the CFL.
