Green Bay Blizzard News Release
GREEN BAY, WI - As of 5pm CST on April 13th, 2020 - the 2020 Green Bay Blizzard Football season has been cancelled. The decision came with player, staff and fan safety in the forefront and due to the many unknowns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and the lack of definitive information as to when states will be to lift stay home mandates and allow large gatherings.
"As much as it saddens us as owners to cancel the season we know we are doing it for the right reasons. The health of our players, staff and fans had to come first. We will be back in 2021, stronger than ever!" - Green Bay Blizzard owner Kathy Treankler.
Amidst the decision to cancel the 2020 season, the Indoor Football League (IFL) voted for a 16 game season for 2021. Giving each team an additional home game to assist teams in getting back on their feet and provide more value to season ticket holders and corporate partners.
