EVERETT, WA: The Everett AquaSox have confirmed that 2018 American League All-Star outfielder Mitch Haniger (pictured above) is scheduled to join the team and play in all three games this weekend on a Major League Baseball Rehabilitation assignment.

In April, the Seattle Mariners placed Haniger on the injured list with a Grade 2 high right-ankle sprain. Haniger suffered the injury on April 29 in Miami. In his first at-bat after missing 11 games because of COVID-19, Haniger injured the ankle while fouling off a fastball. At the time of the injury, he had appeared in nine games with Seattle with three home runs.

A key component to the Mariners batting order for the past several seasons. Haniger enjoyed his best campaign with career bests of 39 homers and 100 RBIs in 2021. Overall, he has appeared in 516 games in the big leagues with a .262 average, 104 HR and 296 RBI's.

"We have a great weekend of promotions planned already and adding Mariner fan favorite Mitch Haniger to the mix hits it out of the park!" said AquaSox General Manager Danny Tetzlaff.

Haniger will be the sixth Mariner to make a rehab appearance in Everett this season joining: Kyle Lewis, Ken Giles, Eric Swanson, Abraham Toro, and Luis Torrens.
