2013 Bantam Draft Lottery Preparations Underway

Calgary, AB - The 2013 WHL Bantam Draft Lottery will be held at the Western Hockey League office in Calgary, Alberta on Wednesday, March 20, at 11:00 AM MST. The Bantam Draft Lottery will involve the six non-playoff teams from the 2012-13 season, and will determine the order of the first six picks in the 1st round of the WHL Bantam Draft.
The Lottery will use a total of 21 balls and the allotment of balls will be as follows:
Vancouver Giants - Six balls
Prince George Cougars - Five balls
Brandon Wheat Kings - Four balls
Regina Pats - Three balls
Moose Jaw Warriors - Two balls
Lethbridge Hurricanes - One ball
A team can move up a maximum of two positions in the Bantam Draft. Only one ball is drawn in the Lottery. The following are the scenarios that can take place following the Lottery selection:
1) . If Vancouver wins the lottery, Vancouver will have the first pick, Prince George will have the second pick, Brandon will have the third pick, Regina will have the fourth pick, Moose Jaw will have the fifth pick and Lethbridge will have the sixth pick in the first round of the WHL Bantam Draft.
2). If Prince George wins the lottery, Prince George will have the first pick, Vancouver will have the second pick, Brandon will have the third pick, Regina will have the fourth pick, Moose Jaw will have the fifth pick and Lethbridge will have the sixth pick in the first round of the WHL Bantam Draft.
3). If Brandon wins the lottery, Brandon will have the first pick, Vancouver will have the second pick, Prince George will have the third pick, Regina will have the fourth pick, Moose Jaw will have the fifth pick and Lethbridge will have the sixth pick in the first round of the WHL Bantam Draft.
4). If Regina wins the lottery, Vancouver will have the first pick, Regina will have the second pick, Prince George will have the third pick, Brandon will have the fourth pick, Moose Jaw will have the fifth pick and Lethbridge will have the sixth pick in the first round of the WHL Bantam Draft.
5). If Moose Jaw wins the lottery, Vancouver will have the first pick, Prince George will have the second pick, Moose Jaw will have the third pick, Brandon will have the fourth pick, Regina will have the fifth pick and Lethbridge will have the sixth pick in the first round of the WHL Bantam Draft.
6). If Lethbridge wins the lottery, Vancouver will have the first pick, Prince George will have the second pick, Brandon will have the third pick, Lethbridge will have the fourth pick, Regina will have the fifth pick and Moose Jaw will have the sixth pick in the first round of the WHL Bantam Draft.
The Lottery only applies to the first round of the WHL Bantam Draft. For each round following the first round, WHL teams shall draft in the inverse order of final regular season standings with Vancouver receiving the first pick.
