2012 Complete Schedule Released

The Clinton LumberKings have officially announced their 2012 season schedule complete with game times at Ashford University Field and all 70 away games. The 76th year of Clinton baseball begins at home on Thursday, April 5 as the LumberKings take on the Burlington Bees at 6:30 PM.

The LumberKings begin their fourth year as a Seattle Mariners' affiliate with a three-game home series against Burlington from Thursday, April 5 till Saturday, April 7. Clinton will take on the Bees 20 times in 2012, tied for the most meetings with an opponent for the season (they'll also play Cedar Rapids 20 times).

Inter-division play begins early this season as the Kings host East Division opponents Lake County (April 19-21) and Fort Wayne (April 22-24) in just the third home stand of the year. Clinton will head to Great Lakes (April 25-27) and Lansing (April 28-30) for their first East Division trip before the opening month ends.

May and June see the LumberKings take on only West Division opponents, including Wisconsin and Burlington on a season-long seven-game home stand from Wednesday, May 2 through Tuesday, May 9.

Clinton wraps up the first half on the road at Peoria (June 15-17) before the entire Midwest League breaks for the 2012 MWL All-Star Game from Monday, June 18 until Thursday, June 21. The Kane County Cougars will host this year's game at Elfstrom Stadium (Geneva, IL) on Tuesday, June 19.

The LumberKings start the second half with a six-game home stand against Kane County (June 22-24) and Peoria (June 25-27).

The second half of inter-division play begins in mid-July as the Kings host West Michigan (July 11-13) and South Bend (13-16). After an off-day on July 17, Clinton heads to Dayton (July 18-20) and Bowling Green (July 21-23).

The final regular-season home stand begins on Saturday, August 25 and concludes on Friday, August 31 as the LumberKings battle Quad Cities (August 25-28) and Burlington (August 29-31).

For the third-straight year, the Kings will finish on the road. This time, they'll conclude the campaign with a three-game commuter series at Cedar Rapids from Saturday, September 1 through Monday, September 3. The 2012 Midwest League Playoffs will open on Wednesday, September 5.

The LumberKings will host three morning games this season with the first on Tuesday, April 24 against Fort Wayne at 11:00 AM. The second early start of the season will come against Burlington on Tuesday, May 8 at 11:00 AM. The final morning game of the season at Ashford University Field will be on Monday, July 16 at 10:00 AM against South Bend.
