August 25, 2011 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Augusta GreenJackets News Release
Augusta, GA - The Augusta GreenJackets announce that the South Atlantic League has authorized the sale of tickets for all possible 2011 Playoff Games at Lake Olmstead Stadium. Tickets are now available at the GreenJackets Box Office. Fans can also charge tickets with any major credit card by calling the GreenJackets at (706) 736-7889 or by visiting www.greenjacketsbaseball.com.
Tickets for the 2011 South Atlantic League Divisional and Championship Series will be priced as follows - Box Seats are just $13, Reserved Seats are $10 and General Admission Seats are $8 in the event the GreenJackets once again return to the postseason.
Fans can also purchase tickets for all four postseason games in a "Playoff Mini-Plan." Those seats are priced as follows - Box Seat packages are just $52, Reserved Seat packages are $40 and General Admission Seat packages are $32. Any unused value from mini-plan tickets can be rolled over into 2012 season ticket or mini-plan packages.
"We are very excited to be in the playoff hunt with the opportunity to provide our fans with great postseason GreenJackets baseball," noted GreenJackets General Manager Nick Brown. "We have an outstanding team this year, highlighted by some of the Giants top prospects, and we anticipate the playoff atmosphere at Lake Olmstead Stadium to be like none other as our loyal fans support the GreenJackets run to the 2011 South Atlantic League Championship."
Heading into Thursday, the GreenJackets are currently trailing the Southern Division's Wild Card race by four games behind the Greenville Drive, while trailing the division-leading Savannah Sand Gnats by just one game in the chase for the second-half title. The division winner of each half of the South Atlantic League's regular season advances to the playoffs; however, if the same team wins both halves, the team with the next best overall record punches their ticket as a Wild Card
Should the GreenJackets advance to the 2011 South Atlantic League Playoffs, Lake Olmstead Stadium would be the host site for Game 1 of the Divisional Round (Best-of-3 series) versus the Savannah Sand Gnats on Wednesday, September 7th at 7:05 PM.
If the GreenJackets win the first round series against Savannah, they would then host games 3, 4, and 5 of the South Atlantic League Championship Series (Best-of-5 series) on Thursday, September 15 at 7:05 PM; Friday, September 16 at 7:05 PM; and Saturday, September 17 at 7:05 PM (Games 4 and 5 if necessary). Their opponent in the finals would be the Northern Division Champion.
The GreenJackets wrap up a four-game series against the Kannapolis Intimidators tonight at 7:05 p.m. on the season's second-to-last Thirsty Thursday with gates opening at 6 p.m. and radio pregame coverage beginning at 6:50 p.m. on WRDW-AM 1630 and online at www.greenjacketsbaseball.com . Single-game tickets for any home game can currently be obtained by calling 706-922-WINS or online at www.greenjacketsbaseball.com .
