Published on July 27, 2011 under Coastal Plain League (Coastal Plain) News Release
HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. - The 2011 Coastal Plain League season has already seen some individual records fall, and tonight, the CPL witnessed yet another - the league record for most doubles as a league in a single season.
Since 2007, the most doubles for the CPL as a whole in a season has been 1,119, but not anymore. With six days worth of games left in the 2011 regular season, the CPL has already broken that record and currently stands at 1,128 doubles.
While all 15 teams have factored in with at least 50 doubles each, the Martinsville Mustangs currently lead all CPL clubs with 103 doubles in 2011.
Stay tuned to the CPL website, www.coastalplain.com, for more information on other CPL records - individual, team, and league - that are broken during the 2011 season.
