
2008 Power Schedule Announced

(Charleston, WV) - The West Virginia Power release their 2008 schedule Thursday featuring Opening Night Monday, April 7th and a July 4th Power "Salute to the USA" weekend at Appalachian Power Park. The Power are fresh off breaking Charleston's professional baseball attendance record, 255,838 fans in 2007, for the third straight year.
The 2008 season, the club's fourth season as an affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, marks the fourth season of Power baseball at Appalachian Power Park.
The 2008 season begins at Hickory, on Thursday, April 3rd with a four game series before returning to Charleston for the home opener against the Augusta GreenJackets on Monday, April 7th. The team will remain home for an eight game homestand through Monday, April 14th.
The '08 schedule features 10 Friday night games, 11 Thursday 'Buck Night' games and 12 promotionally packed Saturday night games. Power fans will also have a chance to see six of the eight teams in the SAL Southern League Division as the Asheville Tourists, Augusta GreenJackets, Columbus Catfish (2007 SAL Champions), Greenville Drive, Kannapolis Intimidators, and Rome Braves all pass through Charleston for four game series.
The Power are currently finalizing the '08 promotional calendar that will feature many of the traditional promotions such as Two-for-Tuesday, Buck Night and Friday Night Fireworks, giveaways and live entertainment. Power fans can also plan on seeing new and exciting promotions and appearances throughout the upcoming season.
This fall many more exciting announcements will be made including the release of the promotional schedule and the date individual game tickets go on sale. Season tickets for all 70 home games and other ticket plans are available now by calling 304-344-BATS (2287).
