2008 OHL Draft to Take Place Saturday May 3rd

Barrie, ON- This Saturday May 3rd, the Barrie Colts will participate in the Ontario Hockey League's Annual On-line Priority Selection beginning at 9:00 a.m.

The Colts will begin their draft with the 6th selection in the first round. Overall, the club owns 17 picks in the 15 round draft, as they will make their selections from the Barrie Molson Centre via the Internet. The Colts own picks in every round, including two picks in each of the fourth and 12th rounds. The Sudbury Wolves will select first overall, and are expected to take forward Jon McFarland of the Toronto Jr. Canadiens.

This is the eighth consecutive year the Ontario Hockey League has implemented the Internet Draft. Each of its 20 member teams will make selections from their respective cities. Players born during the 1992 calendar year are first time eligible to be drafted. A maximum of two 1992-born players plus two "wildcard" selections will be eligible to play for each member team for the 2008-09 season. Here is a breakdown of Barrie's draft positions:
