2008 Memorial Weekend Basketball Tournament

Maywood Buzz News Release
The Maywood Buzz will be hosting it's 2008 Memorial Weekend Men's Basketball Tournament, May 23-26, 2008 in Maywood, California. We will be playing at the Maywood Activity Center (4801 East 58th Street, Maywood, CA 90270) home of the Maywood Buzz of the ABA. Maywood is located about 15 minutes Southeast of Downtown Los Angeles.
We will have the following 4 divisions of play
1. Men's Pro-Am Open - This is for teams that wanna compete with the best. This division will use NBA Rules and is $450 per team and Champions will win $3,000, trophies and shirts.
2. Men's Rec Open - This is for teams that aren't at that Pro-Am Level just yet, but this will be a very competitive division and will be made up of teams from rec leagues that are a C Division and higher. They will use NCAA Rules. The entry is $300 per team and winners will get trophies, shirts and other prizes.
3. Men's Rec - This is for teams that are a C Division and/or lower. They will use NCAA Rules. The entry is $300 per team and winners will get trophies, shirts and other prizes.
4. Women's Open - This division is open to any and all women teams. They will use NCAA Rules and right now we are working on if we will make this division a cash prize to champions. The entry is $300 per team.
We will be taking the first 12-16 teams to enter in each division and maybe more depending on the response of teams that want to play in this event. We will be giving every player and coach official tournament t-shirts, we will provide game balls and balls for pre-game warm ups.
