New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release

Manchester, NH- The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, the Double-A Affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, today announced the lineup of games for the 2008 High School Baseball Series at Merchantsauto.com Stadium. Nine regular-season New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association (NHIAA) games, featuring teams from all four state divisions, are on the schedule. The opening game will be a Class M clash between Mascenic Regional High School and Newport Middle High School on Saturday, April 12. (view complete list below)

"The High School Baseball Series has proven to be a terrific opportunity for area schools to raise money for their programs while also getting the chance to play a game at the state's premier outdoor facility," said Fisher Cats President/General Manager Rick Brenner. "We're happy to see small and large schools alike from all over the state benefiting from this unique program."

"The NHIAA is again very excited to be continuing its relationship with the Fisher Cats," said NHIAA Executive Director Pat Corbin. "As we enter the third year of working with the Fisher Cats, the student athletes who play baseball for our member schools continue to be afforded a unique and thrilling opportunity through the High School Baseball Series and the hosting of our tournament games at Merchantsauto.com Stadium."

"Feedback from past participants, student athletes and fans alike, has been consistently positive with respect to the ability of our teams to play at a professional stadium. It would seem that the potential to benefit the student athletes in New Hampshire will only continue to grow and improve through the collaborative efforts of the NHIAA and the Fisher Cats' organization."

In the High School Baseball Series, each participating school is able to purchase 250 tickets at $3 below face value, re-selling those tickets at the regular price to raise $750 for the program. The games are played either following a regularly-scheduled Fisher Cats day game or on a day where the Fisher Cats are on the road.
