Green Bay Blizzard News Release
Green Bay, WI- The Green Bay Blizzard ended their second season in the af2 with a last second victory over the Peoria Pirates 33-30 at the Peoria Civic Center. K Greg Krauss kicked a 15 yard field goal with one second remaining to give the Blizzard a 6-10 record in 2004. With the win, the Blizzard swept the season series with the Pirates, their first such feat since coming into the league in 2003.
Green Bay was led by OS DeRonn Finley who caught eleven passes for 140 yards and 2 touchdowns. Finley became the second Blizzard player to surpass the 1,000 yard mark on the year, as OS Randall Lane had 1,144 yards in eight games before an injury ended his season. Finley ended the year with 83 receptions for 1,049 yards and 25 touchdowns. WR/LB Robert Garth came up 44 yards short of making the 1,000 yard club. QB Andy Sahm getting his first start for the Blizzard completed 21-38 passes for 283 yards and three touchdowns with one interception.
Even though the Blizzard won the game, no one from the team received a game award on the night, which is voted on by the media in attendance.
