Memphis Xplorers News Release
SOUTHAVEN - The af2 league office announced this weekend that the Memphis Xplorers, appearing in the playoffs for the first time in team history, will travel to TECO Arena to play the Florida Firecats on Saturday, August 7 at 6:30 PM CST.
The game will be the third this season between Memphis and Florida, with each team having won one game. Memphis defeated Florida 54-51 early in the season at the DeSoto Civic Center. In the other half of the series, the Firecats were victorious at home, winning 43-20. That game saw the Xplorers suffer several injuries throughout to key personnel, including a season-ending knee injury to FB/LB Jon Tecac, and injuries severe enough to knock OS Kevin Prentiss and then-starting QB Brian Jones out of the game in the second half.
The game will be broadcast live on SportsPlus 790 WMC, with pre-game starting at approximately 6:20 pm CST.
