Klamath Falls, OR: Nick Fisher (Linfield College) hit his third home run in two days, powering the Gems to a 10-7 win over Wenatchee and salvaging the last game of the three game series at Kiger Stadium. Jackson Lockwood (University of Portland) pitched four innings of shutout baseball for the Gems and earned his first win of the year, improving to1-1. Gems ousted AppleSox starter Davis Engle (Central Washington University) in the 5th inning, as Engle took his first loss of the year, falling to 2-1.
Cam Newell (University of California Santa Barbara) and Michael Tittle (Fresno City College) contributed three hits each as part of a 17 hit attack for the Gems, who improve to 12-9 on the year. Wenatchee falls to 11-10 as their three game winning streak ends with the loss. Gems break a two game losing streak with the win at home.
The next Gems game will be Sunday, June 30th as the Gems host the Medford Rogues at Kiger Stadium with the first pitch at 5:05 pm. Sunday's Promotions: Senior and Kids Club Sundays!
