Bend Elks News Release
On the last day of June, Bend Elks starter Hunter Raley from Murray State college got the start for Bend and dominated on the day, pitching 7 scoreless innings as the Elks cruised to an 8-0 victory over the Kelowna Falcons.
The Elk scored in 5 of the 8 innings they came to the plate as Kyle Giusti, from Abiliene Christian lead the way, going 4-4 in the game, including a 2 run home run to help put the game away for Bend in the 7th inning.
Bend got on the board in the first inning as Chase Fields lead off the game in the 1st for Bend advanced to 3rd on a Derek Dixon single, and came around to score as Dixon was caught in a rundown, as the Elks jumped to an early 1-0 lead.
2 more runs came across in the 2nd inning as Cullen O'Dwyer walked, Adam Grantham singled, Kyle Giusti came through with an RBI single, and Keach Ballard was retired on an RBI groundout to give Bend a 3-0 lead.
