Colorado 14ers News Release
DENVER, April 6 - The Colorado 14ers stayed alive in the race for the top playoff seed in the NBA Development League Western Division with a 121-115 win over the Idaho Stampede on Friday night. The 14ers improve to 28-19 with the win, while the Stampede falls to 30-17 with the loss.
The Colorado backcourt led the way, with Von Wafer, Pooh Jeter and Antoine Hood combining for 93 of the 14ers 121 points. Wafer matched his career high with 43 points and added 7 rebounds in the win. Jeter scored a career high 34 points to go along with his seven assists.
"Pooh, Von, and Antoine did a heck of a job tonight. They knew how much this game meant not only to them, but to the organization, and they really played well." said 14ers coach Joe Wolf. "Tonight Von and everybody else did a nice job recognizing what it took to play on both ends of the court."
The win puts the 14ers within two games of Idaho with three games remaining for each team, including a rematch tomorrow night in Idaho.
The Stampede led by 6 points going into the 4th quarter, but Wafer scored 18 of his game-high 43 in the final period to lead the 14ers comeback. Mike Harris provided a spark off the bench in the final quarter, and gave Colorado the lead for good at 116-114 on a lay-up with 32 second remaining. Harris then blocked a lay-up attempt by Ronell Taylor at the rim with 12 seconds remaining to seal the victory.
Idaho was led by Lance Allred's 29 points and 19 rebounds in the loss. Randy Livingston also posted a double-double with 16 points and 16 assists.
Both teams now head to Boise for the sixth and final game in their regular season series Saturday night.
