1480AM ESPN Deportes to broadcast Desperados home games

DALLAS, Texas - The Dallas Desperados announced a partnership with 1480AM ESPN Deportes today for the station to broadcast games of the 2008 Desperados home season.
"We are very excited that 1480AM ESPN Deportes will now be broadcasting our games across the Dallas/Fort Worth area and afar," said Desperados Chief Operating Officer Shy Anderson. "This move allows all of our fans the opportunity to enjoy our games over the airwaves in English and now in Spanish."
1480AM ESPN Deportes Program Director Tom Lee added, "We are very excited to bring the Arena Football League and the Dallas Desperados to ESPN Deportes."
Heading up the broadcast booth during the games will be Victor Villalba providing color commentary and Luis Perez providing the play-by-play.
Villalba has been influential in spearheading the effort to provide Spanish language radio broadcasting in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and has been successful doing so as the long-time Spanish voice of the Dallas Cowboys as he manages the Spanish language properties for the NFL club. His expertise lends credence to the effort of creating this opportunity for 1480AM ESPN Deportes and the Desperados as executive producer of the show and has appointed Luis Perez - sports anchor of Telemundo's Channel 39 of Dallas and three-year collaborator and field reporter of the Dallas Cowboys Spanish properties - to assist him with his play-calling talent.
The Dallas Desperados host the Columbus Destroyers in the team's home-opener on Friday, March 7 at 7:30 p.m. (CST) at the American Airlines Center.
