St. Charles Chill News Release

Moline, Ill. - The St. Charles Chill racked up 63 minutes of penalties on 19 infractions and the Quad City Mallards took advantage with four power play goals in 12 chances, three of them with a two-man advantage, en-route to a 6-1 win at the iWireless center Friday night.

Quad City (2-1-1) scored first at the 4:08 mark with a man advantage on a delayed penalty (not an official power play) when Nicholas Rioux netted his first of the season.

The Mallards struck for two goals in a two minute span early in the second period to take a 3-0 lead before the Chill (1-4-1) got on the board with a power play goal themselves from Chad Costello with an assist from Jordan Fox and Tony DeHart.

The penalties began adding up by the third period, but despite spending 22 more minutes in the penalty box than the Mallards, the Chill were outshooting the ducks for the game until the middle of the third period.

At the 11:50 mark the Mallards scored their first of three-straight with at least a man advantage and added two more in the final minute of play to send St. Charles to an 0-2 road record with both losses coming in Moline.

The highlight of the night was Tyler Barr (6-2, 215 lbs) unleashing his frustration by pummeling Jordan Lane (6-8, 250 lbs) in the final stages of the game.

The Chill are back home Saturday night for Military Appreciation Night at The Family Arena. Five dollar tickets are available for any active and retired member of the armed forces and their families by calling the Chill front office at 636.724.7468.
