October 7, 2026 - Waterloo, Iowa - Forward Sal Viviano has been selected by his teammates as the Waterloo Black Hawks' captain for the 2026/27 season. Viviano learned he had been chosen for the leadership role Wednesday after practice. The 19-year-old from Grand Blanc, Michigan, is Waterloo's top returning scorer from the 2025/26 season. Former Buck Puk Selected to Participate in Arizona Fall League

October 7, 2026 - Waterloo, Iowa - A former Waterloo Buck has been placed on a roster in the Arizona Fall League for professional baseball's off-season. Owen Puk will take part in the developmental league's 2026 season, which began on Saturday. Former Waterloo right-handed pitcher Owen Puk will play for the Salt River Rafters. October 6, 2026 - Staying Home on Saturday For the second straight week, the Black Hawks' schedule includes a stand-alone home game. On Saturday night, Waterloo will meet the Madison Capitols for the first of four head-to-head tilts in 2026/27. However, this weekend's game is the only one between the teams at Young Arena. October 2, 2026 - Dylan Nolan and Hayden Russell each scored twice Friday, sending the Waterloo Black Hawks to a 6-3 win against the Dubuque Fighting Saints at Young Arena. Waterloo has now won six consecutive home openers dating back to 2021. The crowd of 2,258 was the largest to see the Hawks begin their home schedule since 2023.
