Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Waterloo, Iowa - Ryan Murphy has joined the Waterloo Black Hawks scouting staff, General Manager Kevin Gibson announced Thursday.
Murphy currently serves as the Director of Scouting for the Kenai River Brown Bears of the North American Hockey League, where he has helped manage and coordinate a scouting staff covering players across the United States. He will remain in that role concurrently.
"Ryan is a great addition to the Black Hawks organization," said General Manager Kevin Gibson. "He brings a strong work ethic and an enthusiasm to identify talented young players who will have success as they continue to develop."
Prior to beginning his scouting career, Murphy played NCAA Division III hockey at Babson College, completing his eligibility last spring. At Babson, Murphy was a two-time team captain. The Michigan native was also recognized as an ACHA All-American Scholar.
Murphy resides in Boston and will primarily scout the East Coast for the Black Hawks.
