Hurricanes Sign Forwards Simpson & Hunt

November 25, 2015 - Halifax, (NS) - The Halifax Hurricanes have agreed to terms with 6'9 Anthony Simpson and 6'10 Kyle Hunt. Following two successful years at Kent State, Anthony Simpson played eight games for the Iowa Energy in the NBA Development Leagues in 2012 and six games for Residence Walferdange in 2013/14 (Luxembourg - Total League). For Residence Walferdange he produced impressive averages of 20.2 points per game and 11.0 rebounds per game. Moncton Miracles Sign Explosive Combo Guard Dexter Strickland

November 24, 2015 - The Moncton Miracles are happy to announce the signing of explosive combo guard Dexter Strickland. Strickland is a six-foot-three combo guard out of the University of North Carolina. As a 4-year starter for UNC he averaged 7 points, 2.6 assists and 1.2 steals per game. He finished the 2014-15 season with the Los Angeles Defenders (NBA D-League) where he averaged 6.5 points, 1.8 assists and 2 rebounds per game. Veteran Guard Al Stewart Reunites with Mill Rats

November 24, 2015 - The Saint John Mill Rats are pleased to announce the addition of 5'11 veteran point guard Al Stewart to the roster. Stewart, from Chicago, Illinois, shared the backcourt with Anthony Anderson on the Manchester Millrats in 2007-2008, and led a Rob Spon coached Millrats squad to within 1-game of the PBL finals in 2008-2009. Cape Breton Highlanders Join National Basketball League of Canada

November 24, 2015 - Today, the National Basketball League of Canada's ninth franchise - Cape Breton Island - revealed its team name and logo and announced an exhibition game for December 18 at Centre 200. The team will be called the Cape Breton Highlanders and is scheduled to hit the court for the 2015-2016 season, which begins in late 2016.
