Iowa Wolves News Release

Reno, Nev.- Amir Williams recorded a season-high in points (18) and rebounds (18) Wednesday night to help the Iowa Energy (7-21) defeat the Reno Bighorns (11-9) 106-104 on the road.

Down by one point with 21.9 seconds remaining, Wayne Selden Jr. drew a blocking foul near the basket that Reno Bighorns head coach Darrick Martin disagreed with. Martin was assessed with a one-shot technical foul, which Cartier Martin made. Selden Jr. followed by sinking one of two free throws to give Iowa a 105-104 lead.

A Bighorns turnover on the ensuing possession allowed Iowa to add one more point to the lead with a Wes Washpun free throw. With 0.8 seconds remaining, Reno had one last opportunity to tie or win the ballgame but were unable to get a shot off.

The Energy have now won five of their last six games dating back to Jan. 15.

Cartier Martin scored a season-high 24 points, including 4-of-8 from the three-point line.

Wayne Selden Jr. tallied 20 points to go along with six rebounds and two steals. Wade Baldwin IV matched Selden Jr.'s 20-point performance, adding four rebounds and four assists of his own.

In a highly contested game, the two sides managed 16 lead changes and 12 ties.

Iowa dominated the glass in the win, racking up a 54-30 advantage, including 15 offensive boards. The team's 54 boards was a season-high.

Despite shooting 48 percent from the field, the Bighorns were unable to defeat the Energy after doing so in their first two matchups.

Pe'Shon Howard had a game-high 29 points for Reno on 11-of-21 shooting from the field.

The Energy continue their three-game road swing Friday night at 9:00 p.m. against the Santa Cruz Warriors. Iowa returns home on Tuesday, Feb. 7 for the annual Education Celebration game against the Oklahoma City Blue at 10:30 a.m.
