SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Okaro White and Briante Weber had monster games as the Sioux Falls Skyforce (2-0) outlasted the Delaware 87ers (1-1) Friday night at the Sanford Pentagon, 115-103.
White finished with 29 points on 12-of-22 shooting, grabbed 17 rebounds and blocked two shots for his second double-double in as many games. Weber followed up his triple-double in the opener with 20 points, seven rebounds, four assists and seven steals, which tied his career high.
The Skyforce never trailed in the contest. But despite having multiple double-digit leads, Sioux Falls could never put the game out of until midway through the fourth quarter.
The defending NBA D-League champions had a 10 point lead in the second quarter which Delaware eventually cut to two, and a 16-point, third-quarter lead which the 87ers trimmed to four.
But White and Weber weren't going to let the Skyforce lose. The pair dominated the fourth quarter, combining for 21 of Sioux Falls' 27 points to put the game out of reach.
A pair of Shawn Long free throws brought the 87ers within 96-92 with 8:12 left in the game, and that's when White and Weber took over. The Skyforce went on a 15-3 run to take a 16-point lead, and White and Weber scored all 15.
It wasn't just the two big games, though. The Skyforce had six players score in double figures, including all five starters. Keith Benson and Luis Montero scored 15 points and pulled down seven boards each. Bubu Palo added 14 points and four assists.
Cat Barber had 28 points to lead the 87ers. Danuel House, on assignment from the Washington Wizards, had six points, six rebounds and three assists.
The Skyforce visit the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (1-0) at 4 p.m. Sunday in Sioux Falls' first road game of the season.
