Westchester Knicks News Release

HIDALGO, TX - The Westchester Knicks (6-4), the official NBA Development League affiliate of the New York Knickerbockers, dropped its third game in a row, falling 109-126 to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (10-4), the Houston Rockets' affiliate, despite a balanced attacked that saw seven players in double figures.

Doron Lamb paced the Knicks in the loss with 18 points, hitting 3-of-6 from downtown while adding three rebounds and two steals. Jordon Crawford supplied 14 points off the bench, with four assists and two steals. Chasson Randle finished with 12 points, six rebounds, and five assists, while Damien Inglis notched another double-double, his fifth of the season, with 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Rio Grande Valley tallied seven blocks and 16 steals as a team against Westchester. Two Vipers collected double-doubles; Darius Morris with 25 points and 12 assists, and Chinanu Onuaku with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Chris Johnson provided 24 points from the bench, including five rebounds and three steals, while Kyle Wiltjer finished with 22 points and eight rebounds.

The Knicks started off red-hot, exploding for 42 points in the first quarter with all ten players contributing points on 65 percent shooting. The Vipers' quarter was none too shabby either though, as the visitors put up 32 points of their own in the first.

The home team followed up with another 30 in the second, catching up to come within just one at the half as Westchester cooled down for a 21-point second quarter.

Rio Grande Valley stayed hot and got even hotter in the second half as they managed to take over the lead early in the third quarter, though it stayed in single digits until the fourth. Upon finding a 10-point lead, the Vipers immediately went on an 18- 2 run to blow the advantage wide open. Finding themselves down by as many as 28 points, Westchester gave two flat quarters of 23 points each to an ultimate demise of a 109-126 final score.

The Westchester Knicks travel to Frisco, Texas for game three of its four-game road trip to face the Texas Legends, the Dallas Mavericks' affiliate, on Friday, December 16 at 8:30 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast live on MSG Networks and Facebook Live.
