Westchester Knicks News Release

WHITE PLAINS - The Westchester Knicks (16-11), the official NBA Development League affiliate of the New York Knickerbockers, weathered the storm - literally - in a rescheduled game against the Erie BayHawks (9-15), the Orlando Magic affiliate. With Winter Storm Jonas postponing the match originally scheduled for yesterday, the Knicks pulled off a 94-74 win.

Both sides coming into the match-up from an unexpected day off, the Knicks heated up a bit quicker than the BayHawks, the home team hitting 3-of-4 from downtown in the first. The visitors struggled to find a shot from anywhere, shooting just 27 percent and missing all six attempts from beyond the arc. With a 12-point boost from the bench, Westchester ended the first quarter with a 10-point advantage.

Westchester went on a 14-2 run to extend the game-high lead to 22 early in the second. A free-throw heavy quarter, Erie's 9-for-11 from the line served as somewhat of a saving grace to cut the deficit to 15 at the half as the BayHawks attempted to catch up to the Knicks.

The third quarter was rough from both ends. Erie held Westchester to just 13 points but could only come up with 17 of their own. The teams committed a combined 13 turnovers, but neither team did much with the opportunities, combining for just six points.

The shots just didn't come for Erie as they finished with another 17-point quarter. The Knicks went back to first and second quarter form to solidify the win, Westchester ending with a 20-point, 94-74 advantage.

Damien Inglis, on assignment from the Milwaukee Bucks, had a team-high 19 points in the win, with six rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Jimmer Fredette finished with 17 points, adding four each of rebounds and assists. Jordan Bachynski just missed a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds, while Wesley Saunders contributed 13 points from the bench.

Erie's Melvin Eijm posted a game-high 24 points, notching the double-double with 10 points and also grabbing 4 boards. Alex Davis finished with 17 points and seven rebounds, while Jordan Siebert came off the bench to supply 15 points and two steals.

The Westchester Knicks hit the road next weekend for a back-to-back series against Sioux Falls Skyforce, the Miami Heat affiliate, beginning Friday, Jan. 29 for an 8:00 p.m. ET match-up. The game will be broadcast live on MSG+ and on the NBA Development League's YouTube channel.
