WHITE PLAINS - The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA Development League affiliate of the New York Knickerbockers, fell 109-95 to the Sioux Falls Skyforce, the Miami Heat affiliate, in game one of the 2016 NBA D-League Eastern Conference Semi-Finals.

Westchester went off on an 8-0 run to start the game, including back-to-back threes from Jimmer Fredette and Thanasis Antetokounmpo, but Sioux Falls answered back with a massive 18-0 run of their own. The Knicks could only come up with four more points post-Skyforce run, the home team finding themselves down by 15 points after the first twelve minutes.

The second quarter was the definition of a back-and-forth contest as neither team backed down from the other. Despite a 13-point quarter from Knicks guard Jimmer Fredette, Westchester was never able to cut the Skyforce lead to single-digits, even with the team shooting over 59 percent. Sioux Falls answered each Knicks' basket to the tune of 65 percent shooting during the quarter, taking a 65-52 lead into halftime.

The Knicks were unable to take advantage of a 22-point quarter from the Skyforce, the home team only able to match those same 22 points. Still reeling from the first quarter blowout, Westchester went into the final quarter still trailing Sioux Falls by 13 points.

Heading into the final quarter, Westchester was not able to overcome the barrage of shots at the hands of Sioux Falls. The Knicks were able to trim the Skyforce lead to 10 with just over four minutes left; however, the road team responded each time Westchester got within single digits. The Skyforce outscored the Knicks 22-21 over the final twelve minutes to take game one of the NBA Development League Playoffs 109-95.

Jimmer Fredette paced the Knicks with 20 points off 6-of-16 shooting, adding three each of assists and steals. Thanasis Antetokounmpo finished with a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds. Jordan Bachynski supplied 18 points and six rebounds, while Travis Trice II had 17 points, five assists, three rebounds, and three steals.

Jarnell Stokes finished with a game-high 28 points, hitting 12-of-16 shots and nabbing a double-double with 11 rebounds. DeAndre Liggins provided a double-double of his own in the win, with 14 points and 11 assists. Rodney McGruder added 20 points, Jabril Trawick 11, while Greg Whittington came off the bench to round out the double-digit scoring with 13 points.

The Westchester Knicks will face the Skyforce for game two of the 2016 NBA Development League Eastern Conference Semi-Finals on Friday, April 8 at 8:00 p.m. ET in Sioux Falls. The game will be broadcast live on the NBA Development League's YouTube channel.
