
WESTCHESTER KNICKS DEFEATS GREENSBORO SWARM AT HOME

WHITE PLAINS, NY, November 17, 2017 - The Westchester Knicks (4-3), the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knickerbockers, put itself back over .500 with a 95-86 win at home against the Greensboro Swarm (2-3), the Charlotte Hornets' affiliate.
Knicks Two-Way players Luke Kornet and Isaiah Hicks played major roles in the win; Kornet scoring a team-high 21 points to go with five rebounds, three assists, and three steals and Hicks notching his fourth double-double of the season with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Knicks affiliate player Trey Burke supplied 20 points in the win, his fellow affiliate Nigel Hayes contributing 10 points and six rebounds. Xavier Rathan-Mayes continued his well-rounded streak with eight points, nine rebounds, and six assists.
Greensboro guard T.J. Williams led all scorers in the game with 25 points, also delivering five rebounds, five steals, and four assists. Hornets Two-Way player Mangok Mathiang fell just short of a double-double finishing his night with 15 points and nine rebounds. Forward Terry Henderson contributed 11 points and five rebounds, Dominic James with eight points and seven rebounds.
Westchester jumped out to a 17-7 run to start the game, but the Swarm buzzed back, managing to tie it up late in first quarter. The buzz wore off however, as Greensboro managed just 16 points in the second with the Knicks taking as much as an 11-point lead which it carried into the half.
The second half was all Knicks, as the home team led by double-digits for the majority of the second half. The Swarm attempted a late surge in the fourth, but Westchester never trailed by more than eight points, ultimately defeating Greensboro by nine.
The Westchester Knicks return to the historic Westchester County Center on Sunday, Nov. 19, hosting the Lakeland Magic, the Orlando Magic's new affiliate, at 3:00 p.m. ET for Junior Knicks Day. The game will be broadcast live on both NBA TV and MSG Networks and will be available streaming via MSG GO.
