January 27, 2017 - NBA G League (G League)
Westchester Knicks News Release

WHITE PLAINS, NY - The Westchester Knicks (12-14), the official NBA Development League affiliate of the New York Knickerbockers, lost at home to the Raptors 905 (20-7) tonight, falling 111-99 to the number one team in the East.

On assignment from the New York Knicks, forward Maurice Ndour led with 22 points, hitting 3-of-5 from downtown and hitting 9-of-15 overall. Marshall Plumlee, also on assignment, was a force on defense with 13 rebounds. Von Wafer provided a huge effort off the bench by adding in 18 points and making both of his shots from three-point range.

The Raptors' eighth straight win was led by Will Sheehey, who scored 19 points with four rebounds and two steals. Brady Heslip knocked down 5-of-11 from the three, and dropped all 17 of his points off the bench. The Raptors hit 13 shots from beyond the arc and were able to put Westchester away with the help of 54 points from the bench.

Westchester was put to the test in the game's opening quarter. After trading blows with the Raptors 905 during the opening minutes, the Knicks quickly fell behind. Damien Inglis led Westchester with ten points and Maurice Ndour backed him up with nine points of his own. The Knicks pulled within five in the quarters closing minutes, but the Raptors' speed quickly bolstered its lead again. At the end of the first, the Knicks trailed 35-26.

The Knicks threw everything it had at its opponent in the second quarter, however, the Raptors' speed continued to punish Westchester's best defensive efforts. Down by as many as 15, the Knicks mamanged to cut the deficit to ten by the end of the second. As halftime approached, the Knicks were behind 63-53.

Westchester mounted a potential comeback in the game's third quarter. A barrage of three-pointers from the Raptors stopped that potential from becoming reality. Despite the incredible shooting display by its opponent, the Knicks battled to come within eight. Courtney Fells led the pack with eight points and made a timely shot from beyond the arc, but by the end of the third, Westchester still trailed.

The Knicks were unable to mount a fourth quarter comeback. Maurice Ndour added six points towards the finish, but the Raptors held firm and never surrendered its lead. After a difficult game, Westchester fell 111-99.

The Westchester Knicks are back in the Westchester County Center tomorrow, Jan. 28 at 5:00 p.m. taking on the Grand Rapids Drive, the Detroit Pistons' affiliate. The game will be broadcast live on MSG Networks and on Facebook Live.
