Sioux Falls, SD - The Sioux Falls Skyforce (3-1) pulled away from the Austin Spurs (3-2) in the second half to earn a 105-82 victory at the Sanford Pentagon on Tuesday night. With the win, the Skyforce remain undefeated on their home court this season.
A back and forth first half saw the Skyforce lead by only one point after the first quarter, while both team's finished the half tied at 50-50.
Keith Benson (13 points, 10 rebounds, three blocks) led the charge early for Sioux Falls, tallying 11 points and nine rebounds in the first half on the way to his 24th career double-double.
Following the break, it was all Skyforce as they began the third quarter on a 19-4 run and never looked back. Okaro White exploded once again for a team-leading 24 points and 13 rebounds, while Briante Weber (10 points, 12 assists, eight rebounds, four steals) came just two rebounds shy of recorded his second triple-double of the season.
Jarell Eddie led the Spurs in scoring with 22 points (7 of 18 shooting) along with five rebounds in the contest. Ryan Arcidiacono pitched in a well-rounded game from the point guard position, contributing four points, nine assists, and five rebounds.
New Orleans Pelicans assignee Cheick Diallo was bottled up for most of the night, scoring just five points and adding six rebounds in 26 minutes. Livio Jean-Charles accounted for the team's lone double-double, scoring 14 points and tallying 10 rebounds in the game.
Sioux Falls outscored Austin 42-26 in points in the paint, and led 29-13 in fast break scoring. Seven different players scored in double figures on the night, while Jabril Trawick, Luis Montero, and Marcus Posley combined for 38 points off of the bench for the Skyforce.
Sioux Falls now enters a two-game road trip starting with a matchup with the Santa Cruz Warriors on Friday, November 25th, followed by a game against the Northern Arizona Suns on Sunday, November 27th.
The Spurs continue traveling as well, taking on the Grand Rapids Drive (2-1) on Friday, November 25th in Grand Rapids Drive in Walker, Michigan.
