Warriors Acquire Returning Player Rights to Phil Pressey in Trade

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Santa Cruz Warriors announced today that the team has acquired the returning player rights to guard Phil Pressey from the Salt Lake City Stars, in exchange for the returning player rights to Aaron Craft and Santa Cruz's own 2017 original 2nd round draft pick.

Pressey (5'11, 175) appeared in 31 games (25 starts) for the Idaho Stampede (now the Salt Lake City Stars) during the 2015-16 season, averaging 13.7 points, 6.8 assists, and 4.4 rebounds in 35.6 minutes per contest.

He received two GATORADE NBA Call-Ups during the 2015-16 season with the Philadelphia 76ers and Phoenix Suns, respectively. He appeared in 14 games for Philadelphia averaging 3.9 points and 3.3 assists per game and appeared in 9 games for Phoenix, averaging 2.44 points and 3.2 assists per game.

After going undrafted in the 2013 NBA Draft, Pressey played for the Boston Celtics in the 2013 Orlando Summer League which ultimately led to a deal with the Celtics for the 2013-14 season. He appeared in 75 games, receiving 11 starts for the Celtics, averaging 2.84 points, 3.21 assists, and 1.4 rebounds in 15 minutes per contest.

Pressey enjoyed a standout collegiate career at the University of Missouri and was named First Team All-Southeastern Conference after leading the league and ranking No. 13 nationally in assists per game during his final season at Missouri. He finished his collegiate career averaging career highs of 11.9 points and 7.0 assists per game and became Missouri's all-time leader in assists (580) and tied for the career lead in steals (196).
