Texas Mutual and Austin Spurs Announce Corporate Partnership

AUSTIN, Texas (Nov. 10, 2016) - Texas Mutual Insurance Company, the state's leading provider of workers' compensation insurance, today announced a corporate partnership with the Austin Spurs of the NBA Development League. The partnership will include the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons.

Texas Mutual will serve as the presenting sponsor for the "Fan Code of Conduct," a video that will play at the start of each Austin Spurs home game announcing the rules for fan safety and behavior.

Texas Mutual will also locally sponsor Hoops for Heart and Jump Rope for Heart, two national education programs that teach elementary and middle school students the importance of life-long healthy living and help raise funds for the American Heart Association. Participating students have the opportunity to win free tickets to Austin Spurs basketball games.

"We are proud to sponsor and partner with the Austin Spurs organization for many community activities this season," Jeremiah Bentley, senior manager of marketing and community affairs at Texas Mutual Insurance Company, said. "Texas Mutual is excited for the opportunity to highlight fan safety, as well as encourage health and wellness in the community."

On April 1, 2017, Texas Mutual will also serve as the presenting sponsor for "Red Jersey Night," which will focus on promoting awareness and raising funds for the American Heart Association. During this game, Austin Spurs players will wear specialty red jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game. All proceeds from jersey sales will benefit the American Heart Association.

The Austin Spurs' 2016-17 season begins Sunday, November 13. The season opener will feature a home game versus the Oklahoma City Blue at the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park.
