Portland, ME - The Maine Red Claws, presented by Unum, slipped out of the lead and fell to Texas Saturday night, 127-105.

The Red Claws (8-7) were led by Boston Celtics Two-Way Player Jabari Bird, who scored 29 points on 11-17 shooting, to go with 10 rebounds. Daniel Dixon added 16 points off the bench, while L.J. Peak scored 12, and Trey Davis added 11. Texas (7-7) was led by Justin Dentmon, who finished with 43 points. Kyle Collinsworth finished one assist shy of a triple-double with 21 points, 14 rebounds and 9 assists.

The Red Claws had control of the game in the 1st quarter. Davis drained a three-pointer to put the Claws up four, then Davis dropped in another trey to make it 28-22 Maine. That would be the score after the 1st. The Legends started to heat up in the 2nd quarter - with Dentmon leading the charge. Dentmon's three gave Texas a 44-43 lead halfway through the quarter. Texas out-scored Maine 30-21 in the 2nd, and took a 52-49 lead into the break.

In the 3rd quarter, Josh Adeyeye immediately knocked down a three to tie the game at 52. Texas would then go on an 8-0 run over the next 2:00, and suddenly the Legends' lead was 10 points. The Red Claws continued to try to get back into the game from the perimeter to no success. Dentmon, meanwhile, buried another three to put Texas up 20 at 85-65. Kadeem Allen's finger-roll cut into the deficit a bit, but at the end of the 3rd, Texas led 85-69.

The 4th quarter was a wild and high-scoring affair. Dentmon's finger-roll lay-up gave Texas a 91-71 advantage. Devin Williams' three-point play got the lead down to 15. Dentmon continued the hot-shooting, and the lead ballooned to 30 at 120-90. The Legends would cruise from there. Texas out-scored Maine 42-36 in the 4th quarter, and 75-56 in the 2nd half.

Maine shot 43.7% (38-87) from the floor, and 32.6% (15-46) from downtown, while shooting 14-16 from the free throw line. Texas shot 54% (47-87) from the field, 34.6% (9-26) from deep and 24-30 from the charity stripe.

The Red Claws return to action Tuesday with a matinee at Delaware. Maine returns home Thursday for an ESPNU national televised game against Fort Wayne. Tickets are on sale now by calling 207-210-6655 or visiting MaineRedClaws.com.
