News Release

SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that they have reacquired forward Greg Whittington via returning player rights. Markeith Cummings has been waived in the process.

Whittington returns to the Skyforce after having spent the season in Australia playing for the Sydney Kings. While there, Whittington appeared in 28 games (all starts) and averaged 11.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.5 steals per game.

Prior to signing with the Sydney Kings, Whittington appeared in 27 regular season games (26 starts) for the Skyforce during the 2015-16 season averaging 13.8 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 2.1 steals and 1.0 blocks per game, helping the Skyforce achieve an NBA Development League-best 40-10 regular season record.

Whittington also appeared in all seven playoff games last season for the Skyforce, averaging 12.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.4 steals in just under 28 minutes per game, serving as a key contributor as the Skyforce went on to win their third championship in team history, and first since becoming members of the NBA D-League.
