Sharks Sign Defensive Lineman Jeremiah Price

JACKSONVILLE -The Jacksonville Sharks of the National Arena League announced today that they signed defensive lineman Jeremiah Price.

Jeremiah Price (6'3",255) enters his fifth season in arena football and his first year with the Jacksonville Sharks. Price was named First Team All-IFL for his 2016 season with the Indoor Football League's Cedar Rapids Titans and was the 2016 and 2015 Defensive Player of the Year. Price ranked second on the team with 14 sacks (Xzavie Jackson 14.5) playing in 16 regular season games and racked up a massive 60 tackles, three forced fumbles and an interception. In 2015, Price had a stint with the New Orleans VooDoo of the Arena Football League before joining Cedar Rapids Titans.

During the 2015 season with the Titans he was First Team All-IFL, leading the league in sacks with 12.5 and earning his first Defensive Player of the Year title helping Cedar Rapids league leading defense to the fewest number of yards per game during the 2015 season (179.4).

Before his rookie year with the Titans in 2014, Price played for the IFL's Sioux Falls Storm and became a two-time IFL Champion as the Storm went on to win the 2012 and 2013 United Conference. He also earned Second Team All-IFL in 2013 with 55 tackles, seven sacks, two pass breakups and one interception. Price was named the 2012 United Bowl MVP for his performance in the Storm's victory over the Tri-Cities Fever 59-32. In 2012, he had 69 tackles, five sacks, two pass breakups and one forced fumble during the regular season, where he started in all 14 games. In 2011, Price played for the Green Bay Blizzard and contributed 48 tackles, 10 sacks, four pass breakups and a forced fumble helping the Blizzard to their IFL Great Lakes Division Championship win.

During his college career, Price attended Oklahoma State University from 2008-2009, where he collected 45 tackles, 13 for loss, five sacks (leading the team with three in 2008), two pass breakups and an interception. The Cowboys pass rusher led OSU with three sacks and was second in quarterback hurries with four. Price tied for second on the team with seven tackles for loss.

Price began his college career at Jones County Junior College in Ellisville, Mississippi where he made 79 tackles, 15 sacks and three forced fumbles. During his sophomore season, the Bobcats finished fifth nationally in a final poll after a 9-2 record. Price was an All-State, All-Region and All-Conference community college player, All-Region and All-South division selection.

Price is a native of Ellisville, Mississippi where he attended Collins High School. Price was an All-State Selection and played in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star game and was Defensive Lineman of the Year.
