Jacksonville Sharks News Release

JACKSONVILLE - The 2012 South Division Champion Jacksonville Sharks announced Wednesday that the team has activated defensive lineman Mark Crawford from Refused to Report.

Jacksonville claimed the 24-year-old Crawford (6'1", 325) on Friday, June 21. Crawford was previously a member of the Arizona Rattlers, appearing in two games with the team before being placed on reassignment on June 20. Crawford worked with Arizona in training camp, was reassigned on March 15 and then returned to the squad on May 7. In his two games with the Rattlers, Crawford assisted on one tackle.

Before beginning his professional career, Crawford played defensive tackle at the University of Kentucky. As a senior in 2011, Crawford appeared in eight games, totaling 6.5 tackles, three tackles for loss and a sack. His most productive season as a Wildcat came in 2010, when he picked up 4.5 tackles for loss and two sacks. Before heading to Kentucky, Crawford played at Coffeyville (Kansas) Community College.

A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Crawford attended Ben Davis High School.

In another Wednesday transaction, the Sharks announced that offensive lineman Trevis Turner has been placed on injured reserve. Following the moves, the Jacksonville roster remains at the league maximum of 24 active players.
