
Second South Korean Midfielder Taewoo Kim to Join Switchbacks Roster

(Colorado Springs, CO) - The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC announced the signing of midfielder Taewoo Kim today to the 2016 roster. Kim is the second South Korean player to be added to the Switchbacks roster this week.
"Taewoo is a player I identified last November at a combine in Ventura, California," said Head Coach Steve Trittschuh as he describes the new midfielder's style of play. "He is an exciting and hard working player that causes problems for defenders and I expect lots from him on the pitch this season."
Kim participated at the 1st IZ Sports Professional Soccer Combine in Korea and received interest from several United Soccer League (USL) teams. He graduated from for Jungwon University in South Korea where he played full game matches since he was a freshman.
Kim received the New Comer of the Year Award in 2012 along with the President Cup Best Eleven Selection (DF) Award.
"I am lucky to join with the Colorado Springs Switchbacks. It is a wonderful chance for me to play with such great coaches and staff," said Taewoo Kim as he expressed enthusiasm of his signing. "I am very excited to play in front of such great fans and willing to help the team become even better."
Switchbacks team captain Luke Vercollone shared that he is looking forward to playing with Taewoo Kim and yesterday's new signee Taeseong Kim. "Both Taewoo and Taeseong bring a lot of energy and enthusiasm to the squad. They are hard working and dedicated athletes who are good teammates and motivated to get results."
Per USL and club policy, the terms of the deal were not disclosed.
